Call Recorder for Skype is ending development; it’s been an invaluable tool for people recording podcasts, as there still somehow isn’t a great dedicated podcast recording “killer app” for the desktop yet. (Anchor for mobile is okay, but far from perfect.)
What to do now?
If you’re looking for a solution, you may find it among Rogue Amoeba’s suite of excellent audio utilities, specifically Audio Hijack. Set Skype as your audio source and hit record, and you should be good to go. You could also route your incoming Skype audio to one file and your microphone input to another, for more advanced mixing if necessary.
Better still, you can use this setup with apps that aren’t Skype, if you’re more rooted in the present and have moved on to other VOIP apps.
