Mozilla today announced the release of Firefox 89, which includes a relatively major redesign as well as refinements to the user experience, including privacy and notifications:
We set out in 2021 to reimagine Firefox’s design to be fast, modern and inviting the first time you run it and every day after. We’ve always had your back on privacy, and still do. Now with today’s new Firefox release we’re also bringing you a modern new look designed to streamline and calm things down so you have a fresh new web experience every time you use Firefox.
Some of the most significant changes include “Total Cookie Protection” in Private Browsing Mode, a simplified UI with less noise and more native context menus on macOS, and redesigned interactions for dealing with media (including cameras and media-playing tabs).
If it’s been a while since you’ve tried Firefox, now would be a great time to dive back in.
